Respecting Everyone

Gay/LGBT Pride Month will be over in about two weeks. Wanting respect is reasonable, but I don't agree with much of what's said on this issue.

Don't worry, I won't be spitting venom. Even if I felt like it, which I don't, that kind of trouble I don't need.

First, I'd better talk about love and respect, and why I think both are important....

Hate, Justice, Forgiveness

Islamic centers in California got hate mail recently. At least one of the letters was addressed "To the Children of Satan," and started with "You muslims [!] are a vile and filthy people...."1 Details are new, but the attitude is all too familiar.

Hating Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Catholics, or other 'outsiders' may be easier than coming to terms with personal issues. I don't know why those letters were sent.

I also don't know why a Somali refugee drove into a crowd at Ohio State University and hurt some folks with a knife this morning.2 He had been a student there, and now he's dead. I'm not happy about that, but I think he shouldn't have attacked those folks.

I do not think we should deport all Somalis, lock up college students, or ban knives and automobiles. I'll talk about what I think would make sense, after explaining why I'm not upset about Americans who don't look and act exactly like me.

Hating People: Not an Option

World Youth Day 2000, Rome, from sporki, via Wikimedia Commons, used w/o permission.

This showed up in today's news ... CNET's piece quoted part of this Twitter blog post:
"Progress on addressing online abuse" (November 15, 2016)

"...The amount of abuse, bullying, and harassment we’ve seen across the Internet has risen sharply over the past few years. These behaviors inhibit people from participating on Twitter, or anywhere...."...
All that reminded me of a familiar sentiment I saw on Twitter last year:
"Sometimes I wish I was religious so I could have an excuse for hating people."
...That's a lot of folks discussing religion and hate. Some agreed with the "excuse for hating people" quote, some didn't, and some discussed something completely different....

Evil is Not Good

On Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at about 6:59 p.m. UTC, 10:59 a.m. PST, two people killed 14 others at a holiday office party in San Bernardino, California.

The killers were located and stopped a few hours later, and died during an armed confrontation with law enforcement. I put names of the dead, and a few links, at the end of this post.1

I'm still experiencing anger, disgust, and several other emotions in connection with this latest mass murder. It's an unpleasant sensation, but I'd probably be more concerned if I didn't notice any emotional response.

Hate People? Not an Option

I ran into a familiar sentiment on Twitter:
"Sometimes I wish I was religious so I could have an excuse for hating people."
Instead of seething with anger, I did a quick Google search.

The phrase, with exactly those words, showed up about 60 times. The earliest example I found was posted by a bot on, December 28, 2011.

Without the quotes, I got roughly 35,200,000 matches.

That's a lot of folks talking about religion and hate. Some agreed with the "excuse for hating people" quote, some didn't, and some were talking about something completely different.

The "excuse for hating" quote hadn't been directed at me, and came from an account that Tweets a lot of platitudes and quotations. Instead of firing back a response, I started writing this post. That was on Monday of this week....

Charleston Church Shooting: Emotions and Reason

A young man joined a Wednesday evening Bible study group at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, earlier this week

After participating for about an hour, he killed nine of the folks there and left.

I'm angry, and sad, that nine lives were unjustifiably ended in that church: and am profoundly impressed at the calm shown by some of the victims' relatives.

In my considered opinion, what the young man did was wrong. I'll get back to why I think that's true: and what I'm doing about my anger and sorrow.

Love, Hate, and "Silent Night"

Epiphany Sunday, 2014:

 Epiphany of the Lord, 2014

By Deacon Lawrence N. Kaas
January 4, 2015

Epiphany is still Christmas, especially for all of us who are Gentile. The gifts we have received really do not compare to the greatest gift of all--- the babe of Bethlehem, the word made flesh and dwelt,s amongst us, is the precious Son of the Father.

Music is a part of this special gift, for music is a gift from God. How many of us are put in a mood of joy and hope through music, especially Christmas music. I listened to the sound of music a week 10 days ago and even after hearing it many times it still seemed like the first time. We can even here in our minds, Bing Crosby's White Christmas and if you are on a little more of the low brow side of music you may hear Elvis singing I'll have a blue blue blue Christmas without you...

Demons Don't Carry Identity Cards

I was skimming the channels and happened upon some of those "Ghost" shows where they talk to the dead. The only problem is that they DO NOT KNOW who or WHAT they are talking to. DEMONS DO NOT CARRY IDENTITY CARDS!

The 'spirit' took on attributes of a person's mother that had recently passed.  The 'spirit' even knew the Mother and Daughter's 'secret' word that they had chosen in advance of the Mother's passing.  Well that must be proof that was the Mother, right?  NO.  Let me explain.  Demons are constantly around us trying to trip us up so that we lose our salvation, they will DO ANYTHING, let me repeat: ANYTHING including taking on the shape, voice, smell, and even provide secret code words in order that you will seek the paranormal (their playing field) and as a result putting you at risk of losing your salvation.  How did the 'spirit' know the code word? Simple, the demon assigned to the Mother or Daughter was present when they decided on the secret word.  How better to get them entangled in the supernatural and keep them there with seances, etc than to provide such 'evidence'. We cannot forget their whole purpose is to keep you away from God and His truth, what better way than to keep people seeking after what is not of God.

When you seek out spirits by seance, ghost hunting, evp's, etc, you usually have three choices of what you are speaking to:
1.  Demons ~ These are demons pretending to be your loved one to keep you distracted and turned away from God.  (Think about a baby and a rattle or a shiny object, kind of the same thing).  Ever heard of 'shadow people'?  Darkness is of the demon.
2. Demonized Humans ~ humans that have been condemned to hell but have taken the goals of the devil and seek ruin of souls on the earth, even their own family members.  That last one is hard to hear, but a condemned soul hates God, and their is no love in Hell.  They hate even those they have left on the Earth and will seek their destruction also.
3. Purgatorial Soul ~ A Purgatorial Soul that needs prayer.  We have much evidence that God allows some souls in Purgatory to reach out to us for prayer.  This is a great responsibility.  If you encounter such a soul (I have), be awed, because you realize how much God loves this soul and wishes it's release from Purgatory.  Not that we can do anything for God, or do God favors, but by our prayers, we are purified in order to attain heaven.,

I beg you, don't watch these shows, or do anything they do because you may literally be playing with hellfire.

1.  Expel them in the name of Jesus
2.  Pray that if they are a soul in purgatory that God be merciful to them.

NEVER ENGAGE THEM, do NOT look them in the eye, speak to them or ACKNOWLEDGE THEM in any way.

When the demon fell like lightning from heaven the communication between God and Lucifer CEASED.  We should not speak to the one that chose to be God's enemy.
